This song was pretty experimental for me, starting off sounding more like an indie band with a lot of acoustic elements then pulling the listener into a melodic flow that feels like gliding.
This song is about the feeling of letting go, learning to ride the waves of life, and in my case, literally ride the waves of the road as I learned to ride a OneWheel I picked up early this year, right as the pandemic hit. I knew I would need something to keep me entertained this summer without festivals to look forward to, and it was probably the best impulse purchase I ever made. Not only is the board an absolute blast, but funny enough it has taught me some very real and unexpected lessons about life itself. Sometimes, the faster you move, and the more you let go, the easier the bumps in the road become. Ride that momentum and you’ll just soar right over them (most of the time lol).
These five tracks tell a lucid story with tones and textures, AND nearly demand you move your body during each piece.
This EP calls between critical nodes of musical DNA that link together many of my favorite parts of the electronic scene.
Good for a party with that edgy energy, a firespin, or night drive! David Rees
Oliver Rhodes, aka Paracusia, captures a spectrum of moods from dreamy nostalgia to wiry anxiety on this EP of highly textural bass music. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 9, 2021
For his debut album as Tunes of Negation, electronic producer Sam Shackleton pivots from apocalyptic dub to mystical psych. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 23, 2019
I don't need the members of any community discarded and body othered as a bitch, thanks of the trees for helping me realize there's no point in bass music that I need to hear someone slip the word into my eardrum. cya. BeatsaNdBuds
